The Drink:

Fairytale of New York

1 piece of orange peel

3/4 oz Winter Warmth Syrup

2 dashes bitters (orange or walnut)

2 oz bourbon, rye, or Canadian whiskey

Winter Warmth Syrup

1 1/2 cups water

1 cup raw sugar

1/2 apple and 1/2 pear, peeled and diced

12 walnut halves

3 cinnamon sticks broken up

(To make syrup, combine ingredients in sauce pan on medium heat and bring to a simmer.  Simmer 15-20 minutes, cool, strain and refrigerate)
